This is another pet peeve I have about IOS. Apple decides they don't like an app, so people are not allowed to use it. I can't speak for anyone else, but personally I have a serious problem with someone else deciding what you can and cannot install on your device. This is one reason why I think over all that Android is a better, more flexible platform. I like IOS and do use it for some things, but restrictions like this are why I would probably never make it my primary mobile platform.

We mentioned that we hoped to test our People Finder app during the conventions. Apple rejected it we think because they didn't understand about running Bluetooth in the background. Not really certain but by the time we resubmitted, it may be too late.
I did use the test version of the app with a couple other testers at the shows. It is such a fun feeling of success when you can find a friend in the bar all on your own, especially if you weren't looking for each other. We really want this to be the equivalent of the sighted person glancing around and seeing a friend nearby.
If it does turn up in the next day or so, hopefully some folks will play with it. Right now, a search for People Finder in the App Store comes up with something called 123People, which has to do with finding people on the web, not in the bar.
In any event, if we can get some funding, we hope to come back to this project. For now, it is on hold.
Note, it is hard to commercialize these things since 90% of apps are not profitable. We hope to make this of interest to the general market so there could be enough interest to sell it. For now, it will remain basic and free.
