Terrie,

You are probably correct that her slow walking speed is scrambling the GPS 
heading information. We do recommend that the user try to walk at least 2 miles 
per hour. Otherwise, it is difficult to distinguish changes in the user's 
position from the GPS fluctuation.

Reading the GPS accuracy document available in our documents zip file or on the 
document CD that comes with the unit is a good idea.
