Hello Charles and everyone,
I was just wondering if it would be hard to add a feature so that
one could set a waypoint or virtual position directly ahead of your current
heading starting at half mile increments. I will be sailing on the Madilan
this summer for a week from dilute Minnesota to Marquette Michigan. One of
my duties as part of the crew will be to steer the vessel. I think that it
might be hard to set waypoints quickly while I am underway. For example a
sighted person just finds a point on the horizon on the heading that they
want to steer and they can use the compass and that point on the horizon to
achieve their goal. I can get the heading easy enough; however while
sailing I may need to veer from that heading to keep the winds in the most
optimal position. I believe that if I could just set my heading and then
pick a point on the horizon at a given distance this would be great. Thank
you in advanced
Scott
