We are always testing the many GPS receivers hitting the market. In case any of
you notice the new Holux receiver, don't rush out and buy it. The GPSlim 240 is
the smallest GPS receiver I have seen. Instead of a squarish design, it is
about the size of my thumb. It looks more like a rectangular chapstick than an
electronic device.

It has the physical on/off switch and the Sirf Star3 chip set.

Both Chris G and I have tested this new receiver and have been disappointed
with the results. Because it is so small, the patch antenna must not be as
receptive as the Holux 236. The 240 is much more temperamental in how it is
positioned to get satellites. If you are in the open, it will acquire just
fine. Inside a building or in an urban canyon, it isn't great.

It sure looks cute. Too bad it doesn't perform.
