Dear Peggy

My power supply unit for the mPower32 comes with a power supply that can be
connected to power supplies ranging from 100volts to 240volts. This means
that I can use it in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Taiwan and other countries
that supply 110volts out of the wall socket; and other countries that supply
220 to 240 power e.g. U.K. spain, Australia, China, Malaysia, pretty much
the rest of the World.

However, please get a sighted person to read the specifications to you before proceeding to plug it into a 220-240 power outlet. This can be found on the body of your mPower or PK power-pack.

What you will need is a "socket converter" to change the two "flat parallel
pins / legs" on your mPower's electrical pack to that of the matching type of the
country you are travelling to. You can find most of these socket converters
at Radio Shack, or similar stores.

Even the Earthmate GPS receiver comes with a power supply unit that connects
to power supplies ranging from 100 to 240. the same goes for the Holux. If
you do not mind leaving your mPower switched on while charging, you can also
connect your Holux power cord to the mPower's USB port and the other end to
the Holux receiver, this will charge your gps battery while charging the
mPower.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] International travel with BrailleNote and receivers

On the BrailleNote list the question came up about international travel
with the BrailleNote mPower, which got me wondering about international
travel with all types of the BrailleNote as well as the GPS rechargable
receivers. Mike and others who travel out of the country, where and how do
you get the adapters for the difference in voltage between the U.S. and
other countries? Does Humanware sell them, or is there some other way of
getting them? Just curious.
