Hi Leslie.

I am not a GPS power user, but I think you could add information about details of specific intersections or anything else by creating way points. These would jog your memory about the specific details of a given intersection configuration, traffic patterns and availability of signals and even give indication of accessible pedestrian signals with vibrotactile information available for you. Of course, you could not do your whole city or state, but you could mark places where you travel and expect to go again. You can do this in virtual mode with your O and M instructor in virtual mode without having to actually be at the specific location, but the person helping you would have to be very familiar with the details you would need to add. You could mark spots several feet back from each corner so that you would have time to process the information before reaching the corner and you could give more specific information depending on the path you are taking. I believe you would have to be in a route to create way points. Perhaps you could create user POI's that could include specific information as described above. That would not require that you would be in a route. Let others who are more knowledgable expand on this idea.

Hi Leslie,

Unfortunately there is no traffic light information in the data
from
TeleAtlas. I doubt Navtech has this information either. I am
currently at a conference hosted by TeleAtlas and I will ask that
question for you but I don't expect that information will be
easily
obtainable. No commercial product that I am aware of has traffic
light info, but maybe I could pitch it that improved route
calculations could be made based on the # of traffic lights you
must
go through.

We will see, thanks
Charles

I am disappointed because GPS does not have the traffic lights
location.

Route guide me and tell me turn 3 or 9 oclock but I can not go
across the busy street
without the traffic light. I MUST have the lights where I can
walk
across the streets.

How could I command it? Could there make a new version?
