Hello Mary Ellen, et al:

I purchased an iPhone 5 S a few days ago and am amazed at how much Apple has
improved battery life on the device, in general.

I launched Seeing Eye GPS, for the first time, in iOS7 yesterday to, among
other things, see if my one issue, already addressed on the list, would
somehow magically be resolved by using a newer device with a new OS. Alas,
this was not the case but, that is for a different subject in a different
post.

I had the app running for about 20 minutes and did not notice any
appreciably decline in battery life. I wish I could be more specific but I
forgot to take note of the battery level just before launching the app.

It may very well be that iPhone 5 S will give Seeing Eye GPS travelers
longer battery life.

Mark

Subject: [gps-talkusers] Seeing Eye GPS and IOS 7

Good morning, fellow travelers!
Just wanted to let you know that the Seeing Eye GPS works fine with IOS 7.
I have only taken it out out on Saturn's and my core exercise route, I did
have it with me on Thursday in a cab but hadn't turned the cellular on so
couldn't use the route function.
Now the cell part is on, so, I have been happy with what the app has been
doing for me.
It did use 1/4 of my battery power (OUCH!!!) in walking just over a mile. I
put that down to having a 2 year old iPhone 4S which will be traded in in
about another month so I'll see how the new 5S deals with the battery.
IOS7 seems to really suck the battery life out of this phone at an
astonishing rate even though I close as many apps as I can after using them.
That's all from the desert.
Happy traveling!
