I had a similar thing where I tested the app with a route I know how to do
without it, and it seemed to go in reverse. The route isn't a great test
because I do it the way my O&M person and I did, not the way the app wants
me to go. I put in to go from the library back to my apartment, and as I got
closer to my apartment, it was saying I was getting further away. How can I
be able to trust this for routes where I only know the bus stop and bus
number to use and not much more? I have a VR counselor that is expecting me
to do random routes when I've always been shown on a place by place basis. I
agree that they can't pay for unlimited O&M, but how do I know if I'm
getting bad directions from the app?

Subject: [gps-talkusers] Trying to resolve some issues with Seeing Eye GPs
Hello all,
I am trying to figure out some issues I seem to have consistently when using
the Seeing Eye gps app on my iPhone 6 running the current version of iOs. My
carrier for information is Verizon. Here are the issues I notice:
While either walking or riding in a vehicle such as a bus, the app will
begin reporting information, then (of course the moment I need such
information as an intersection to get off the bus) it will stop reporting.
Shaking the app gives incorrect reporting of previous information with the
accuracy given as 16 feet.
I also have noted that on numerous occasions either street intersections are
falsely reported, or the nearest POI is something that is nowhere near my
area.
I have reinstalled the app at least once, my phone of course is updated to
the latest iOs software. It is in an ottorbox case but I would not think
that should make a difference.
The thing that makes me think this is app related is that I can use blind
square and obtain the correct information.
Any thoughts appreciated, sorry for the length of this post.
