[gps-talkusers] Re: USA Washington state map updated

With all due respect, we've paid thousands of dollars to have an up to date
GPS solution. I reported my street to TeleAtlas, as requested by Sendero
staff in 2007. My street, Trace 5, is still not on the Indiana Map. I am not
criticizing your work, as a programmer myself, I understand the complex
detail that goes into producing a product such as GPS. But, on the other
hand, I purchased Navigon which runs on my iPhone for $48.14 tax included.
Navigon has my street on it's map. So, why can't TeleAtlas and Sendero get
it right?
What good are all of the bells and whistles if the maps are not accurate?

Hello,

We could be doing this all day long, 24/7 fixing map issues and Sendero
would never get ahead. There are thousands of map errors so we can't keep
doing this for everyone. This was something that TeleAtlas reported as
fixed but wasn't until a recent release and only because of this did we feel
we needed to recompile the maps. Redoing the maps is a HUGE process and
quite frankly something Sendero doesn't get paid for at all. This was done
as a one-time curtsey. The issue of unnamed parkways in New York was
submitted to TeleAtlas by Sendero and this is all we can do at this time.

Thank you,

Hey, they should make an exception with the new York maps too and fix the
bug with parkways.
I have two more lat/lons that come up unnamed. These two are in New Jersey
though
First:
Lat 40 degrees, 27 minutes, 13.6140 seconds
Lon 74 degrees, 16 minutes, 23.3340 Seconds
This was taken when I was heading south on the Garden State Parkway.
Second:
Lat 39 degrees, 24 minutes, 15.8280 Seconds
Lon 74 degrees, 31 minutes, 43.2000 seconds
This was taken when I was heading south on the Atlantic City Expressway.
Both spots said heading south on unnamed.
Is this the same bug as the Bronx river parkway and Ocean Parkway in the New

York maps?
Thanks!
