Two things to concentrate on firstly get used to creating routes. You can do this without the receiver. Set your home as the starting point and then set somewhere you know as the destination and have a look at the route.

Once you get the receiver just take it out for a walk and watch how it tracks your progress.

The other day I took a shortcut through Reading West station and received the alarming message "On a Railroad". I wasn't, of course, but I was pretty close.

I have had mine a couple of months and am still getting used to it.

Hi all,

I'm pretty ecstatic today having installed my new "toy" (travel tool, etc., etc) and can't wait to get started with the real thing! (I'm currently just waiting for my receiver to arrive.) Meanwhile I'm reading the manual, finding myself jumping around it a bit and getting a little confused with various modes and of course wanting to run, run, run when I know I have to work through systematically. Any advice on what I should focus on and achieve first, once I have the receiver up and running, would be most welcome.

Thanks!
