I couldn't agree with you more, this is why the M-1000 has been such a 
disappointment. I guess there's such a thing as a bad  receiver. I can only go 
by what my experience has been, just like the magellan Sportrak, I had the same 
difficulties with it, and yet everybody else loved it.
