Hi,
is this an m-1000 you purchased from Sendero or received with your
Sense Nav?

I couldn't agree with you more, this is why the M-1000 has been such a disappointment. I guess there's such a thing as a bad receiver. I can only go by what my experience has been, just like the magellan Sportrak, I had the same difficulties with it, and yet everybody else loved it.

Man, that's just flat wrong! I had an old Magelan, the Holux 236
and now the m-1000. I get faster acquisition time, longer
battery life, and better accuracy with the 1000 then with the
other receivers, all of which were claims I had heard before
buying it and all of which have been true. I use the 1000 in its
case in my pants pocket, coat pocket, shirt pocket, or clipped to
the voicenote strap. Have no problems though it may slow
acquisition time, especially if you are on a bus.
