Hi Richard,
Yes we have broken up the GNIS data into 2 files and this was due to the fact that it wouldn't fit all in one HUGE file. Yes we are not planning on breaking it up into smaller sections at this time. Who knows what we may do in the future but for now this will be it.
The breakdown is the following GNIS 1 has States A through M (Ie. Alaska - Montana) , and GNIS 2 has states N through W (Ie. North Carolina - Wyoming)
So if you want to save some space you can just have either GNIS1 or GNIS2 based on if your state falls alphabetically between A-M or N-W.

It seems like in previous versions, you only copied files for your state.
This one now seems to have them all in one, very huge, file.
It really pushes the limit for some users memory cards.
Is that just the way it is and will be?
