At the risk of sounding like a broken record, a few comments about my day yesterday in Providence Rhode Island.

First, I was able to determine that we didn't need to rent a car as our only trip we couldn't walk was to and from the airport. It can be a liability having a car in a city because you have to find parking.

We are visiting Brown and the RI School of Design with our High School son as prospective schools for him to attend. We have had appointments and tours set up from 9 AM through the evening. The streets are all on the map because these schools are integrated into the community unlike some campuses. Not all the buildings however are marked or at least not all the departments so it is tricky to find a particular place.

As we took the campus tours, I marked about 30 notable points as indicated by our tour guides. I was then able to act like I knew my way around when someone would say, our building is next to Soldier Arch or part of Keeney Quad.

We were able to pick a restaurant to meet new friends for dinner. I was even able to help other tourists out as many folks were on campus with their kids since it is Spring break in many places.

As part of getting to know this town and these schools, I feel very empowered to be able to now have a picture of this area, where the dorms are, the night life, and the lay out of the city.

My only gripe would be when I was in the middle of a route and would have to press reset on the PK. Can't have it all too easy.

Pretty exciting stuff and not something I ever take for granted.

Mike
