Great feature request Marco,
We actually had this ability a number of years ago, then the map provider
changed how they encoded this data and we haven't been back around to make
it work again in all our Sendero SDK products. I looked into adding this in
the Seeing Eye App, but found issues where it would report unexpected river
and lake crossings in multiple places along a bridge instead of just at the
end points, and quite honestly didn't have time to try and figure it out.
That is one of those features if it's simple add it, if it takes more than a
half hour to figure out or if anything unexpected happens when you test it,
then it will have to be made a lower priority and once all the higher
priority items are fixed then we can revisit it when we have more time.
But then not everyone will want to always hear this information, so now you
have to make it an on/off settings to include lakes and rivers etc. it just
is never simple as you would think.

A question I have involving my tom tom maps is why aren't rivers and lakes
and oceans marked on their road map? What I am getting at is when you are
driving along or walking along a road and a river comes up with a bridge
crossing it. Why don't the current maps have the river marked so that when I
am on that road, the name of the river would be listed as we cross it. Too
me, a river is just another line on the map and a line can be given a name
and be treated like a path way or road and common sense would tell me that
you can't walk on the river. An example of what I am talking about is right
here in calgary alberta canada where elbow drive sw crosses the elbow river
south of cifton blvd but my sendero product doesn't label this fact. Because
of my knowledge of the area, I know that there is a river that is being
crossed at this point but the map doesn't speak this. Or how about those of
you who live near the ocean and there is a road that follows the ocean but
the maps don't list the name of the ocean that is beside the road and again
the people who live in the area would know this from experience but to
somebody new they wouldn't know this fact about that particular road. Have
other people experienced this when navigating in their parts of the world?
Is there a way of getting these bodies of water labeled?
