Hi Sasha,

Excerpts from Sasha's message of Do Feb 04 21:41:41 +0100 2010:
IPC is enabled in my kernel (2.6.32.5 x86_64) as follows:
I don?t think you need to enable IPC in your kernel, as we don?t
use System V IPC but unix sockets.

02/04/2010 05:42:12 AM - src/mainx.c:main:466 - Could not create
the IPC socket, IPC disabled
Please run i3 using strace -fF -s2048 and nopaste the output.

Best regards,

Hi, thanks Michael

Well, this is not as simple as it would seem :/

Running an straced i3 causes weird stuff to happen once I'm logged
in, like `su` doesn't work, and my terminals are weird. Running it
from xinitrc makes all my VT's go dark when I log out, thereby
needing a reboot to actually get at the logfile.

Anyhow, finally got an strace file here using the above arguments
to strace, but the file is 7+MB in size. As you can guess, pastebin
et al will not allow anywhere near such a file, so I ask, have you
any idea how many of these 47,708 lines you would like to look at?
I might be able to get around 1500 lines onto pastebin, but I can
make multiple pastebins as needed.

FYI nopaste doesn't seem to be in business, but if you have a
working link to a paste site you prefer, please send it along!
