Hi Aleksejs,

I'm going to make a patch for i3lock that would let it display some
additional information on the lock screen (such as current time, lock
time, and number of failed login attempts). Would anyone else be
interested in this and should I submit this patch to cr.i3wm.org (I'm
afraid this might be contradict the "lightweight & simple" approach of
i3*)? Also, if anyone in interested in this functionality, how much
customization do you expect?
I am not interested in maintaining such a patch, sorry.

See
https://faq.i3wm.org/question/778/why-is-patch-not-merged-and-made-optional/
for some rationale behind this decision.

With i3lock, the case is much stronger than with i3. It really is a
minimal screen locker. If you need anything fancy, use a different one
please. Also, without a GUI toolkit, you will have a bad time
implementing this, just as a warning :).
