MySQL can be said to be fast, since its not as heavy as other RDBMS in
terms of features. You can anyway google around to find out why ;)
MySQL drives many large web sites now and I've heard web sites running
smoothly with nearly 26 million rows and more than 500 tables.
The so-called heavy duty RDBMS will demand more licenses and machines
that SMEs can afford to.
