hello,
Here is my part in helping to make Bharathi's "One Day One Command"
mails into something accessible:
I went to the archives and downloaded the gzip" and parsed out the
"One Day One Command" Mails. Thanks to bharathi for keeping them in a
consistent format. It turned out that he has sent only about 5 so far
:) I could have as well opened the archive by hand and copy pasted
them into files. :)
Then it occured to me that having an LJ community for ILUGC would be
useful in more than one ways. Not just in getting these "One Day One
Command" onto LJ and being able to get them in RSS but also that many
people have livejournal accounts and they post something or the other
technical. They might as well post in the ilugc lj community as well.
Here is the thing so far:
http://www.livejournal.com/community/ilugc/
My stupidity, I should have somehow "intelligently" appended something
to the subject. The RSS feed titles will not make sense as of
now. Whoever wants to be moderator can probably edit it by hand.
for the future:
either Bharathi can post to this LJ community as and when he sends out
a mail (not preferable - extra work for bharathi. probably lesser work
than updating a twiki, but its still requires effort!)
or
one of us who knows for sure that we never miss out fetching ilugc
emails can setup a procmail filter to extract bharathi's mails and
post them to LJ. I used http://sourceforge.net/projects/ljclive/ for
posting the entries so far but its *sloooow* even on a machine with a
decent pipe (symonds.net). Solutions? Volunteers?
cheers,
-Suraj
