1)Do you use any open source conference management system ? If
needed I can volunteer to install CGPublisher and maintain it for
the conference.
Please take a look at http://www.cgpublisher.com/
2)If you want to use other publishing system, then I'm ok with.
as you may have noticed, the format of this conference is a bit
unusual. It is not following the standard 'call for papers' -
'deadline' - 'review' - 'suspence: is my paper chosen?' -
'acceptance' method. Also, we are giving priority to audience,
outstation volunteers, student projects, sprints which most standard
software doesnt handle - so we will be rolling our own software for
that. We probably will not have a deadline, and hope the papers,
sprints, projects etc, will be self-selecting.
3)Is the conference multi threaded ? If so what are the different
streams ?
no formal streams - lets see what is submitted first, then we may
make it into streams
4)We have to add information about venue, travel, accommodation.
yes
6)Do we need a separate mailing list to discuss conference related
activities ?
no
7)Is there a registration fees for conference ?
no
8)What does a speaker package include?
I am not clear what 'a speaker package' means.
9)Are we inviting any big shots like Rasmus ?
I was not aware that there are big shots in the foss world - I
thought one contributor is as good as another - but we *are* inviting
lots of local contributors/potential contributors
I don't stay in Chennai, but I do like to contribute as a volunteer
and speaker.
most welcome - there are now *three* AC chettinad restaurants around MIT
