but with the release of 11.04 the solutions are not working.
*
sudo rmmod -f dell-laptop
sudo su
echo "blacklist dell-laptop" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
exit*
was the solution and after that it was smooth for my dell laptop to detect
the wireless networks...
Suggests buggy code; it happens.
now I am stuck with Natty as this is not working..
Am I doing something stupid somewhere? or just missing something?
Unless there is a compelling reason to upgrade, it is advisable to
stick with a version that works for you. Maybe the "dell-laptop"
module is fixed in the new release and you can give it a try.
Laptops are quirky beasts (compared to desktops); even though they are
"x86" machines. WiFi is the most quirky amongst the peripheral
devices.
