MSI wind or acer netbook with linux
+1 for netbook, especially if you're traveling often (and quite cheap). But
the keyboard & screen can be tiny, and it's not fun when you have to code on
it for a long time. Seriously reconsider the netbook if you're an Emacs user
- the keyboard can give you an ulcer if you have big hands - I have to use
vim on my netbook for coding.
Soon the Trend will go from netbook to Smartphone.

Smartphone = computing + communication.
I guess, soon they will be used as ThinClients where you enters into office
and your thin-client (smartphone) will boot. At the similar pattern
companies will provide OS on Clould which you will be able to boot from
wifi/Wmax connection. SO just carry one smartphone and do your computing any
where.
