[Ilugc] Does Raspberry PI support ubuntu?

I am trying to build a low cost computer which runs open source educational
software (edubuntu).
The cost of the Raspberry Pi is around 3k. I don't know whether it works
with ubuntu out of box.
(or) Any other embedded board works with ubuntu, cost should be similar to
raspberry Pi.

Hi,
there are a few boards built around Alwinner A10 like cubieboard (which has
already been mentionaed), marsboard, Olimex olinuxino A10(and also A13 and
A20) and you may find others too.
A10 has VGA output, but none of the boards I have seen have given VGA out,
which you might
want to keep the costs low, since the other option is HDMI/LCD interface.
If you don't have a
problem with HDMI, then you even go for android TV sticks(like from
miniand), most of them
will be able to run a desktop distro. I think beaglebone black is also a
good option.
