I agree Tavish i had a taught of getting beagle bone black for an instance
but dropped it on context of HDMi interface.. no Display means end to game
for android developers and all Rpi does not support Ubuntu distro.
Still on search for availability of a good board for all round linux
development at low cost**.

Hi,
there are a few boards built around Alwinner A10 like cubieboard (which has
already been mentionaed), marsboard, Olimex olinuxino A10(and also A13 and
A20) and you may find others too.
A10 has VGA output, but none of the boards I have seen have given VGA out,
which you might
want to keep the costs low, since the other option is HDMI/LCD interface.
If you don't have a
problem with HDMI, then you even go for android TV sticks(like from
miniand), most of them
will be able to run a desktop distro. I think beaglebone black is also a
good option.
