I agree, I'm going to do a fresh install wihtout LVM. Anyways, thanx all of
you, but I managed to save my soul by installing a temporary version of
UBUNTU in a spare disk. Ubuntu automatically added the /dev/VolGroup100
entry. After that it was a piece of cake. I recovered my data on to
another sata drive, but the original disk where fc5 was installed was pretty
messed up. Have to do a full fledged fdisk repartioning and formating. It'll
take me all night but I'm a hapyy man now.
Moral Of the story:
i) Never re-partition on a disk that has fc installed, if you can help it.
ii) Try to avoid LVM if ur prone to disasters.
iii) If Fedora fails, there's always Ubuntu.
