NRCF-FOSS at AU-KBC MIT organised a FOSS awarness session in Jaya
Engg College,Thirunindravur,Chennai.
I spoke on behalf of ILUGC, about Opensource,Linux and LUG.
The response was very good, especially question answer session which
lasted about 45 minutes. The college already has a functioning LUG
for nearly 3 months now. They are in the process of setting up a FOSS
lab with 60systems.
The students and faculty are very enthusiastic about open source.
About 250 students attended the seminar.
Prof.Ramanan from AU-KBC answered many questions and also spoke about
the benefit to student in doing projects on FOSS.
Ms.Padmapriya and Senthil Anand of FOSS Centre did the intro to FOSS
and the proposed elective subject.
