[Ilugc][FOSSConf] Separate mailing list for Fossconf?

Its not just the memebrs, the LUG itself is an organizer with NRCFOSS.

Also, carrying to the logical conclusion, if Deepan and I decide to

the right place and you do not need to know what our logo is or how

Does Crikcet and FOSSConf fall into the same category? Explained
below, why FOSSConf is more important to this mailing list.

By the same logic, I am not organizing Fossconf and I do not want
to know the details. I am member of ILUGC because I use Linux and
am interested in its development.
Then just discard the mails falling into this topic, set a filter to
do so. May be we can add a [FOSSConf] tag to all future mailing list
to help people set their filters appropriately?

Why should I get spammed with the details of Fossconf when it is
not the primary purpose of the mailing list?

[1] The primary purpose of a LUG is to spread the awareness about
GNU/Linux and also FOSS. We haven't been speaking just about GNU/Linux
here, but a lot of things related to FOSS as well.


when i joined ILUGC, it was purely a GNU/Linux mailing list where i
discussed a lot, my issues got it resolved from people. now a days, i do not
see such technical discussions. most discussions involve broadband
connectivity(repeatably being asked), FOSS philosophy etc

i guess ILUGC being diverted from a technical mailing list to a general
mailing list (this is purely my opinion)

[2] FOSSConf is one another endeavor of ILUGC with NRCFOSS, and it
pertains to FOSS and GNU/Linux. Hence it is not an OT to this list and
as ILUGC is organizing this, it is wise to be discussed in in ILUGC"s
public mailing list so that everyone interested can participate in
this. Discussions also get into the archives which serves as a future
reference.

If we start creating mailing list for each and every
conference|workshop that we organize, for just a mere fact that a few
in the mailing list do not care about it, then we are going to end up
with a dozen such lists, while on the other hand the main list will be
totally blank about whats happening.

I agree. but ppl should also remember there is a non-tech ILUGC mailing list
