Language is the fundamental means of communication. You should never
enforce a particular language, and isolate people.
English, today, is the universal accepted language of communication in
the Industry, and in Business.

Moreover students don't really speak Tamil. It is a combination of
Tamil+English.
Name of a conference is the first impression that people get.
If I were to conduct a conference in Chennai with the name "FOSSConf
??", I doubt if I will have an audience, because, most people don't
know about either.
Similarily, if I were to conduct a conference in Poland with the name
"FOSSConf ?????? ", nobody will attend for the same reason.
When you go global, marketing and localization are two separate entities.
