sitting during the talk need something to keep them hooked. like a
keyboard to work out examples .etc :P..
let us be realistic about logistics. this is a conference -- more of a
"mela" and not a workshop. while it will be nice to cater to those who take
the trouble to register, we can't stop the floating audience from joining a
session.
If yes, where should the speakers ask for the required softwares that
are to be installed in the computers. Nothing blows like a missing
library or a compiler.
once the talks are finalised, we can work on this aspect. we can have a set
of "technical volunteers" : each catering to a certain no of speakers. it
the volunteer's job to get the specs and get the installation done. while
the speakers are welcome to bring in their own laptops (all fully loaded
with the talk material), we could supplement with a certain no of systems
(I hope a P4 with 1GB RAM should do).
And are the speakers for tutorials supposed to give presentations?
and finally of relatively less importance, will there be internet in the
lab. We could set up a wifi hotspot or something for people with
laptops.
