Godrej SW (now Geometric SW Systems) had a package GCAD which is  
long dead. Licencing it under GPL and enhancing it would be a great  
move.

if you really want to do something, contribute to the development of  
blender-cad. That is the cad software of the future, as it's parent  
blender is competing with professional proprietary software in the 3d  
animation world.
