all the files giving this 404 error have the same time stamp of early morning
on oct 2 (and are available now). this would appear to be a transient issue
with attempted client update while the archive was still updating.
ubuntu@xxxxxxxx is having a problem with this because daily updates are
approaching 1 gb. with this kind of volume, the archive update is taking
almost all day - and anyone updating is prone to this issue. one can easily
verify if this is the problem by looking for the archive-update-in-progress
file at the root of the ubuntu tree.


Yep, everytime I have this issue I do check for that file, and its
almost never present...
It wasn't present last time when I posted that mail.
