But I think many XP machines will not easily be able to work with Linux; unless
the hardware was verified for Linux support during purchase. Things like ACPI,
Graphics card, network card etc. have been known to misbehave in Linux while
working perfectly fine under Windows XP.
Also, to my knowledge there are some applications built in client-server model
using .Net, how will these applications run under Linux?
In our College, a batch of more than 300 Wipro machines are working only with
CentOS, and network card is working only in 10Mbps mode; but in XP 10/100Mbps
is supported.
