[Ilugc] Hibernate on a thinkpad

Hey,

I have an IBM Thinkpad R51 and am planning to install gentoo on it. Does 
anyone here have experience getting hibernate to memory working with it ? 
I'm not talking about swsuspend, but the echo -n mem > /proc/power/state 
variety.
