Hi all
I have been dual booting mdk 10.1 and win xp with grub. My system configuration
is PIII /Intel 937Mhz /RAM 256/HDD 40GB. Mandrake 10.1 was working fine till
last week. Suddenly I am not able to boot Mandrake. It stops with "calibrating
delay loop ... and not proceeding further.
I googled a bit to find what could be the problem. Suggested causes were memory
or some incompatable hardware.
I tried Knoppix 3.6 and then Ubuntu Live CDs. Both are working fine without any
problem.
Windows XP is also booting without any problem. So I don't suspect any hardware
related issues. As a last resort I reinstalled the Mandrake 10.1. Installation
completed smoothly. But while booting system hangs with "Calibrating delay loop
.....
Did anybody face this problem with Mdk 10.1? What could be cause? Will
installing the latest Mandriva 2005 solve this problem?
