You have not provided much data along the lines of kernels being
targeted or, so forth. However, is this not the functionality that is
now built-in to yum (and was previously available via the yum-kmod
plugin)?

I am assuming that for installation of packages and handling of
dependencies your workflow invokes the package manager rather than RPM
commands.
