[Ilugc] Microsoft @ MIT * Warning*

Hi Sriram
Recently some guys from Microsoft came and showed the
demo of some of their products, here @ MIT. They also
started advertising that they will teach .NET course
for a very low fee. Also they r telling that they will
provide CD's of some of their latest products for
students usage.
I think they might have heard of the linux based
activities going on @ MIT, and so ...
Not really, this step was expected for some time. When we were in our
final years, micro soft were at MCC in Tambaram and were doing demo's
there also
It was only a matter of time before they reached MIT.
Friends in the states tell me that MS gives them Os's for free (only the
media cost has to be paid)...so that same initiative is being taken here.
I dont see anything wrong with it, after all, its a marketing strategy to
get you guys used to MS products.
I dont know what anyone can do to stop this...probably nothing.
But If you like to work on Linux , then no matter what proposition MS
makes, you will stick to it. But for the other students, they might now
start relying heavily on Windows.
