not necessarily. Setting up postfix+dovecot+everything else is a pain.
Try ZCS community version. The setup is not too complex provided you answer
a few questions correctly at install time.
You still need the DNS infra in place which the OP may not be aware of.
But once set up it is dead easy to host any number of virtual domains
and users and have complete control.
Each to his own.
I did mention "some of us" and not "all of us"
How many times have had to get your IP number delisted from some RBL
or the other?
