[Ilugc] Network Traffic billing tool

Hi Ilugc,
Is there any tool that will tell you how much network data has passed
through an interface?
Something like a daemon that keeps constantly monitoring the traffic
and counting it and at any point in time can produce a statistics
report.
This could be very helpful in finding out, whether ISPs like
sify/bsnl/TI/Airtel are at least approximately correct in their
billing amounts.
I read in one of the magazines abt a tool called vnstat. Want to know
if any others exist?
I am interested tools that can run on Windows/Linux/Other x86 based OSs.

There is no single tool that can do this (I googled for this). But I
overcame with this by writing a Java program (which gets the info from
pppstats) and writes it into a access db (which is a part of down2home
- a similar tool in windows). By querying the db i am able to get the
info about how much packets are send.
