[Ilugc] Nvidia problems in debian

Hi,
I seem to be having much better performance with the native "nv" driver
than the "nvidia" driver.
What do u mean by 'better performance' ? As far as 2d is concerned I
haven't found much of a difference between the two drivers - apart
from the fact that the non-free driver has one or two strange and
irritating bugs - such as - the screen flickering and tearing when I
use 'gmplayer' to play movies - the commandline version, i.e. mplayer
works just fine.
I don't use OpenGL much in any of my apps so I stick with the "nv"
driver for most of the time.
As far as 3d is concerned, the non-free driver is pretty damn good - I
get better performance in linux compared to the windows as well -
almost 5 to 10 fps difference in quake3.
