Well, its clearly to do with your perspective. From my point of view
and experience with training newbie web developers, I've always found
Joomla to fair better in terms of ease-of-use and understandability
by many who were new to concepts of PHP.
Again, I dont claim drupal is difficult... its purely a matter of
perspective. Your opinion is clearly different than mine - which
is perfectly okay - Drupal is good, and Joomla is good.
Let the OP explore, try his options and choose what's better for
him than freezing on a solution purely based on my opinion or yours :-)
