And one more thing.... apart from vsnl, i think bharti is the only company
that has its own direct lines(submarine or whatever)/network backbone to
connect to the rest of the world(i am not getting the exact term here). And
other companies buy it from them. So is there any advantage in going to any
other provider other than vsnl/bharti/or whomever has a direct line.
Quite a lot of other people do have submarine cable access (vsnl and
dishnet is now part of vsnl have access to flag and sea-me-we-3 plus
another cable from singtel, bharti has one from singtel ...)
But at least some other players in the market (such as reliance
infocomm) do have substantial international bandwidth available.
Concentrate on the big few ISPs (satyam, net4india, bharti etc) - and
whatever deal you do get, insist on
1. Knowing the QoS limits you get
2. Port sharing ratio - 1:4? 1:2? 1:1?
Look for good service as well.
