  I've attended several courses with open-book exams, and most of them were
moderately difficult - but there was one course with a take-home, open-book
exam, with a deadline of 3 weeks for submission of solutions; but even a
single copied incorrect solution would guarantee an F (failing) grade. OTOH,
an incorrect but original solution might still get partial credit.

What do you mean by "copying incorrect solution" ?  Does that mean
that if 29 out of 30  solved correctly with one being "coppied
incorrectly" will lead to 'F' grade?
