does anyone have a writeup on how SOPA / PIPA impact people in India ?
IMO, the consequences of our govt legal threats to Google, Facebook et al,
disregarding Safe Harbour policies is much more damaging than SOPA/PIPA!
Being a large and diverse country it is natural that every piece of content
on the web will displease a few thousand people. If all these content have
to be taken down there will be no need for any search engine - there will
be no content except for bland govt sites!
I think the govt (in fact the whole 'establishment') wants to undermine the
power of the internet to prevent Anna Hazare, Arab Spring kind of
movements before it starts shaking the foundations of their (the
establishment's) charmed existence.
