Being a large and diverse country it is natural that every piece of content
on the web will displease a few thousand people. If all these content have
to be taken down there will be no need for any search engine - there will
be no content except for bland govt sites!
Similar to how TV was once considered or is considered as an
interference in one's education (morally/culturally/etc..). Internet is
also a major interference for the younger generation. In a country where
all of public broadcasting is PG-13, it is only expected that internet
will eventually be regulated. The important question is how this
happens. IMO, the public internet at large should be kept open but the
individual residences should be able to decide on the package they need,
this is currently not possible. Also, how does one incorporate such
diverse views of the population ? All the firewall and other solutions
out there are very local and don't work at a large scale considering
internet is now present everywhere phones, laptops, TV etc..
