When you say "staying inside Linux" what exactly do you mean by that?
Where are you trying to copy the file?
I think he is trying to copy the file to a vfat partition from
"inside linux". He runs into the 4G limit there. It seems he is
unable to understand that this is a limitation of the file-system and
not any specific operating system using that file system.
In any case, I suggested a solution for this.
