Hi,
And in a hospital in Coimbatore, I saw a hospital management system
developed in Python by a company in Erode!
Perhaps our brethern in tier 2 (and 3 and 4) towns are way ahead of us
in leveraging the benefits of open source.
I used to work for a small company in Madurai called Winways Systems.
while I was there, I worked on many Python/GTK+ based application
programs! Several business that make from a few lacks to few crores
are running those applications successfully.
I even remember designing a reporting system based on gnome-print that
was quite successful. Based on LTSP these applications run comfortable
on 486 clients!!
