instead of creating an application from scratch, we could ask the student
to
study the exisitng open source System like CMS, supply chain management,
smilarly many more open source e-commerce applications. like Drupal,
Joomla,
XOOPS, Docebo, OS commerce, Trac, bugzilla, many more applications.
Adding to this and my earlier suggestion... another practical problem I've
seen is when a developer is asked to 'fix' or 'add to' an existing L.A.M.P.
setup! So, yes, why not get them to tweak an exisitng system -- to some,
this is more difficult to do than create a new website (which I've seen some
people do by copy-pasting code!)
