It will be more useful, if you could prepare atleast few students for long
term projects.. The students would have no idea on how to start a
project..
SO we could do some research on how to bring interested newbies, gradually
and step by step, towards participating in any of the major open source
projects.
The base line here is that in addition to imparting knowledge, we need to
mentor few students there, who after getting enough exposure to the FOSS
projects, will in turn, train their juniors, before they leave the college.
By this, we can create replicating talent centers in more colleges, and then
later co-ordinate their activities.
Just my thoughts, which i wished to implement in the near future.
