Those are for pci dialup modems .. what the guy wants to setup is a USB 
dsl modem of the sort that airtel and other broadband providers provide 
(they also offer adsl broadband "routers" and you could just ask for those)

Depending on the model of the modem you have.  A lot of the usb dsl 
modems around in india will work with eciadsl or accessrunner.
