[Ilugc] Ubuntu 10.04 Black Screen on Bootup

Even I liked the details which Fedora used to give while it was booting
like the interface is up and the services which were turning up. However
currently the text which I see in ubuntu are not aligned that is why it is
confusing. Is it possible to get a neat text scrolling with Ubuntu ? I
remember pressing "ALT + D" to see that information in Fedora while it was
booting.
I haven't used ubuntu much, so, it is hard for me to understand the
problem. But, if this is because of boot screen resolution, you can try
changing vga in kernel boot options. I use vga=791 ie., 1024x768 16-bit
for my boot screen. You can find some details here,

I am happy with the mis aligned text which scrolls past my screen rather
than to stare at the blank screen.
